About Lissa
Lissa came to us in 2008, from Kennel Frozzie's in Sweden. Can never show my graditude enough for this wonderful dog we are so fond of, she manages to charm even the most skeptical of our friends. Lissa is approved for tracking wounded wildlife, with good reviews on the "exams", 1.5 years old. Lissa is today the only Pinscher approved as trackingdog of wounded wildlife in Norway, but my hope is to see more in the future. In Sweden, several Pinschers used for blood tracking, including both Lissa's parents (her mother, Prizma, is Swedish wild tracking champion). Soon after her validation we tracked an injured elk after collision, more eager dog I have never experienced - very exciting, despite the tragic incident. We compete in blood tracking. Lissa is also with us hunting. In addition, we train agility, and, once I am ready, we will compete in AG as well.
Lissa has, from early age on, been with us on most things, and is really easygoing when it comes to new experiences. She is not at all afraid of gunshots, sits to the rear of the shotgun course and wonderes when we are finished. Despite the fact that I am the "horse girl", Lissa did not see her first horse before she was about 8 months. (Due to circumstances and where we lived at this time), she sniffed a little bit on it and found out that it was okay to join this creature on a tour. It illustrates how easily she handles new things.
Lissa makes our job as dog owners very easy. She is a very "soft" dog, and is in reality not the "typical" German Pinscher when it comes to making mischief for her owners. She hardly ever barks, only to tell if someone is on the door... She seems very happy and satisfied. She needs a handler with a "soft" hand, she probably would not functioned to this extension under a handler with an "hard" hand. Besides, who would not want a dog that cooperate with it's handler besides satisfies it's handler because it is afraid of whom?
She has a lot of hunting desire, which reflects positively in blood tracking training, but is also very handler-oriented - easy to call in, even on exciting tracks. She has never run away, and always stays close to us.
She goes along with most animals and humans. Håvars parents have got sheeps on their farm and Lissa loves to be with the sheeps to lick them on the nose, she joins me horseback riding, as well as she goes along with other dogs. She sibmit easily a dominant dog, and can not be bothered to take up the "fight" for the leadership position, but is not in any way afraid or anxious. She is often with me at work and wander the store and greet all the customers who want to greet her.
Lissa is simply delightful...
